img04

Advanced Modeling Spring 2014.

The assignment was to depict "opposites." The over-the-top frivolity of a brightly colored lollipop tree, something straight out of a child's imagination, contrasts with its stark environment. It is childhood fantasy vs. grim reality, privileged vs. destitute.

Advanced Modeling Spring 2014.

The assignment was to recreate a photograph. I happen to take a lot of photos of food, so I took on the challenge of modeling a fruit tart I had photographed.

UpSpire, webapp created for Dropbox Summer Hack Day 2015.

We developed this concept and brought the final product to life in about 8 hours of hacking. I oversaw all the design and created this main page from scratch. We also won the award for best teamwork! Font used is Olivier.

Typography Spring 2015, book cover project.

The assignment was to create a (purely typographic) design for a book cover for the short story The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant. Since a key player in the story is (spoiler alert!) an expensive diamond necklace that turns out to be fake, I decided to use Bayer, a Bauhaus play on French Didone fonts like Bodoni, and tuck it in amongst lettering in Bodoni, to hint at the twist ending of the story.

"Melting ice cap."

Digital Design Foundations Spring 2013, Poster for Amnesty International.

The assignment was to design a poster for one of Amnesty's campaigns. I chose Repealing the 2nd Amendment.
